Coffee presents one of the most technically demanding packaging challenges in flexible packaging. Freshly roasted beans continue releasing CO2 for days after roasting — if packaging can’t release this gas, bags swell and can burst; if it lets in too much oxygen in the process, aroma and flavor degrade rapidly. On top of that, ground coffee has a far larger surface area than whole bean, making oxygen exposure control even more critical to prevent staleness within days rather than weeks.
We engineer coffee packaging with advanced barrier laminates and functional components — including one-way degassing valve integration — to manage CO2 release while blocking oxygen and moisture ingress. Structures are tailored differently for whole bean versus ground coffee applications, and premium finish options help specialty roasters differentiate on shelf.
